Alexander Drachuk is a three Don Black Belt in Judo. He has studied the discipline since he was thirteen years old back in his hometown of Belarus in the former Soviet Union when his brother invited him to go to a gym and Drachuk knew he was where he belonged. He arrived here in the US in1995 and has been working and getting results at the Fight Factory Gym since 2010.

Judo is more than just a way to fight for Alex. It is a way of life. For him it is an art form; as creative as any painter’s work, or a writer’s creation. Teaching this to his students is a fulfillment of his desire to pass along what he has learned.

A graduate of The Physical Culture institute in 1983, where he got an academic degree and he won the All-Union Tournament, Rizhsky Autumn, he was a Regional Champion in Russia, and he was a National Wrestling Champion in Siberia, he was a champion of Republics Belarus, and a student of esteemed trainer USSR’s Semen Abramovich Gumanova.

He is also a graduate of Belarus College of Physical Culture where he studied Judo and academics. There he learned that you can be successful at Judo even if you are not as strong as your opponent because it is the study of tactics to outfight your opponent, “You can win,” explained Drachuk, “If you have a strong mind. You use you moves to take advantage of your foe’s balance and movement.”
